Chad Huffman, RPSGT, brings a wide array of his 16 years of medical experience to University Neurology and Sleep Medicine. Before becoming a Registered Polysomnographer in June 2006 Chad had worked in the fields of Emergency Medicine and Cardiology. When he entered into the field of Sleep Medicine he had the opportunity to train with one of the forefathers of the field. Once becoming a registered technologist Chad went on to work at other area labs to see how sleep medicine is practiced by other practitioners in the area. This helped him to mature as a sleep technologist and to gain the knowledge and experience needed to excel in the field. With his calm and soothing demeanor Chad is very well liked by his patients. Chad focuses on educating his patients, explaining why the Doctor has requested a sleep study and how poor sleep may be affecting their health. He feels this education is vital. Not only does the patient have a better understanding of why they are having a sleep study, they also see how this study can improve their quality of life. It is at this point that most patients actually become excited about having their sleep study. It is because of his experience in the field of Sleep Medicine and his dedication to delivering excellent patient care that Chad has been selected as the Director of Nelsonville Neurology Clinic and Sleep Lab. He looking forward to his new position, but most of all is excited to be a part of an outstanding team of healthcare professionals serving the needs of the people in this area.
